Wedding Transportation

Transportation is an important part of your wedding day plans that should not be overlooked. Not every couple needs or has to rent a car. It’s best to plan out your transportation 12 to 18 months in advance. Between proms and weddings, transportation companies stay very busy.

There are many vehicles from which to choose if you decide that you need or want a rented car. Your wedding transportation choices range from rentals that can transport a large group or an intimate ride for two. There’s not any right or wrong type of vehicle for a wedding just as long as everyone has transportation.

Determine your transportation needs and what special features you want or need. You may want a car with a flat-screen television or music. Perhaps you may be envisioning a ride around town while drinking champagne. What ever features you choose, make sure that you get the appropriate size car for the number of people that will be chauffeured.

Limousine companies usually charge by the hour, but some do offer all-inclusive wedding packages. Depending on what you need, it may be a better deal to go with the package. Be careful to check into add-ons such as fuel charges or any other additional service fees that may be applied to your bill. Lastly, don’t forget about tipping your driver if it isn’t already included in your package. Most drivers are tipped between 15% and 20%.

Getting recommendations from friends and other vendors is always helpful. Remember to deal with only licensed reputable companies and get referrals when ever possible. Read over your contract carefully for omissions, errors, addresses, dates and times. One final note, don’t get taken for a ride, learn what questions to ask limousine companies.
